What the Horse Racing Nation is talking about...

“The Grey Torpedo” Logician is a Star in the making

Stamped himself a potential star with a runaway victory in the G2 Great Voltigeur Stakes at York in only his fourth ever run (and first stakes). Now favourite for the St Leger, although I reckon they would be better keeping him to a mile and a half or even a mile and a quarter for now. He has a powerful turn of foot for a stayer!

Oddly though, what once upon a time was a "win and your in" race for the BC Turf has now become a "win and your in" race for the BC Classic. Even though he's still yet to win the Classic, though close a couple of times with Giant's Causeway & Declaration Of War, the one thing you can certainly believe Aidan O'Brien has learned over the years is that there has to be some conventional dirt pedigree in whatever horse he sends over for the Classic to have any realistic shot. Those he's tried who didn't have any dirt pedigree for the most part have failed miserably. If Japan comes stateside for this year's Breeders Cup, I'd be really surprised if it was for any other race than the BC Turf. Galileo on the top side, out of a Danehill mare on the bottom doesn't really scream a lot of conventional dirt, coupled with the fact that dropping down in trip from 12f from his last 3 starts to 10-1/2f for the Juddmonte International almost seemed as if it might've been on the sharp side for Japan, but he got away with it because of the 3YO weight for age break he was receiving from Crystal Ocean, IMO.
I think this horse is s toss for the win here. Joe Talamo has little, if any, experience riding at Saratoga. This makes Mucho Gusto extremely vulnerable.

Top-level Australian racing returns to Randwick this week with the running of the Group 1 Winx Stakes, although the landscape will look decidedly unfamiliar without the great mare herself gracing the turf in her namesake race. WHAT?? He won?? WOW 😮 he beats CO watch out ENABLE!
Japan continues his upward progression for trainer Aidan O'Brien, taking the scalp of the worlds highest rated horse, Crystal Ocean(though I don't how that's not Enable?) to win the G1 Juddmonte International Stakes at York. By far the most talented middle distance 3YO colt that O'Brien has in the yard at Balldoyle in Ireland this season, IMO.
Damn he’s a beauty. Looks and runs just like his pops. Graceful but raw power. I am beyond excited for some of my favorites babies to run- Honor Code, Pharoah, and Chrome. Definitely found a new favorite to follow. Hopefully these youngins can bring some joy back into the sport for me.

Excited to see his babies hitting the tracks. He got some looking very much like him.
